Questions

What is DEADWATT?

A free cartoon co-op zombie shooter for Windows PC. One to six players hold out against rounds of zombies, mutants and aliens on three maps, then escape: by chopper out of Dead End, by rocket from Frostpeak Silo, and off the Moon in Starfall. 36 guns with ultimate versions, six classes to unlock, 18 bosses, the Lucky Chest, traps and a new Weekly challenge every week.

Do I need Steam?

Not for solo. Online co-op uses Steam to find your friends, so Steam has to be running. On the same network you can play over LAN or join by IP without it.

Why does Windows warn me about it?

SmartScreen warns about new programs that are not signed with a paid certificate yet. Click More info, then Run anyway.

How do I update?

When a new version is out, click UPDATE NOW on the title page: the game downloads it, replaces its files and restarts. Your spot, level, unlocks, survivor and settings are saved outside the game folder, so nothing is lost. Co-op and the Weekly need the newest version.

Why does the game go online the first time?

To claim one of the 1,000 free spots for your PC. After that it starts offline too. A copy from a friend needs its own spot.

What happens when DEADWATT comes to Steam?

It will cost €10 there. This free version keeps working, but it gets no more updates. The first 25 players get the Steam version for free: the key shows up in the game on launch day.

What do I need to run it?

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, and about 1 GB of free space. Mac and Linux are not supported yet.
